Our film crew got a pleasant surprise as they started their filming run of an aerial drone flight from the camp site revealing the lakeshore, swimming and boating beyond. As they flew out further into the lake a bald eagle took off from the far shoreline on an intercept trajectory with our flight and camera crew. Several of the experienced campers at the Provincial Park who live in the region later told us that there are two bald eagles on the lake that love to steal fish right out of the boats of the anglers on the Kelly Lake.
It’s also great to note that the roads are paved all the way to Downing Provincial Park from Clinton. It’s a quick, easy and beautiful location to find but still feels like remote wilderness with abundant wildlife.
